Former Microsoft interface designer Greg Raiz has a good post on improvements Linux needs to make headway on the desktop. He mentions some of the same things as Asa Dotzler, although Greg wants a unified software installer (i.e. a package manager) rather than the Windows-style installers (blech) that Asa seems to want.
